Bike AcceNT: Bicycle Accessibility Networking Territories

The project with its general objective to improve the accessibility of Slovak-Ukrainian cross-border region for cyclists by creating preconditions for transboundary mobility and awareness raising on the importance of bicycles as eco-friendly and climate-proof transport makes an input to thematic objective 7 Improvement of accessibility to the regions, development of sustainable and climate-proof transport and communication networks and systems, Priority 1: Development of transport infrastructure to improve the mobility of persons and goods.
The project will tackle issue of improper cycling transport infrastructure and regional disparities among SK and UA by meeting the following specific objectives:
1. Creating conditions for development of cycling infrastructure in the cross-border area of Slovakia and Ukraine.
2. Capacity building of stakeholders on the issues of planning and implementation of cycling infrastructure.
3. Awareness-raising on bikes as eco-friendly climateproof transport among public of Kosice, Presov, Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Expected achievements of the project lay within the field of (a) improvement of capacities of local actors: self-governments, activists, NGOs and regional authorities, (b) creation of platform for the further (c) improvement and building of cycling infrastructure in the cross-border region of Slovakia and Ukraine, improvement of small cyclists sites along the cycling route accessing the cross-border area.
