The project aimed to research and restore the Historical
"SaltRoad"- ancient route which now covers the territory of
Zakarpatska oblast (Ukraine) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg
(Hungary). It was used for salt transportation from
Solotvyno to Europe in XI-XII centuries. The realization of
the project will create preconditions to save common
historical and cultural heritage of the target regions,
develop common study of the path and promote a new
touristic route. The project envisages reconstruction of the
road and the arrangement of a pedestrian-parking zone on
the st. Zamkova in the Khust city. It will contribute to a
convenient access for visitors to the castle of Khust, that
will be equipped with convenient places for stopping
tourist buses, cars, as well as places for filming landscapes.
The project involves the creation of 10 special, historically
important signs-"markers": 10 mini-sculptures of castles of
the same type that will be placed next to them (5 in
Zakarpatska oblast and 5 in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg. The
opening of mini-sculptures and the inclusion of all 10
objects in the newly created and existing tourist routes, as
well as conservation of the ruins of the castles, will attract
attention of inhabitants of the two regions, particularly
those aiming to provide innovative services and products;
domestic and foreign tourists – visitors.
