10 May 2022 - Restoration of the wooden church iconostasis in the Museum of Ukrainian Civilization (Svidnik, Slovakia)

The iconostasis of the church was restored within the HUSKROUA/1702/3.1/0040 project "Culture connect - cultural mobility in the border area", a project that aims to promote cultural tourism in three neighboring regions: Presov Region, Slovakia, Transcarpathia Region, Ukraine and Satu Mare County Mare, Romania.

Satu Mare, Prešov and Zakarpattia are cross-border areas with a great rural touristic potential. The villages, as touristic destinations, help in improving the chances of cultural heritage preservation and promotion. The rural traditions are well represented in museum collections, too. 

The event, which took place on April 30, 2022, was attended by members of the project teams and numerous guests, who participated in the re-sanctification of the iconostasis and the cultural program that marked the opening of the new season of visiting the museum.
