The Interreg Programme document for implementation of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Interreg VI-A NEXT Programme 2021-2027 was approved by the European Commission on 3rd of November, 2022. The Programme allocates 66 million EUR of EU funding from the NDICI (Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument) as well as from the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) sources. The amount of requested EU funds in the 3rd Call for Proposals of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020 is 4.7 times higher than the available EU allocation of €17.3 million. A total of 369 applicants from eligible area of Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine submitted 119 project proposals with the total requested amount of EUR 80.67 million.

The Joint Technical Secretariat of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020 signed on 4 July 2018 the financing agreements with Prešov Self-Governing Region and Košice Self-Governing Region for hosting of Programme’s Branch Offices in the Slovak Republic. Both Self-Governing Regions will provide the premises, equipment, facilities and devices which are necessary to operate the Slovak Branch Offices and perform its tasks. The Prime Minister’s Office of Hungary, acting as the Managing Authority of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020 issued on 31 August 2017 the 1st Corrigendum to the 2nd Call for Proposals. The Corrigendum modifies the Guidelines for Applicants of the 2nd Call for Proposals, mainly the deadline for online submission of applications is extended until 27 October 2017.
130 potential applicants from eligible regions in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine attended on 26 July 2017 the Partner Search Forum in Košice organised by the Joint Technical Secretariat with the support of TESIM project. Representatives of regional and local authorities, public organisations as universities, medical institutions, as well as non-governmental organisations had the opportunity to find suitable partners for the opened 1st and 2nd Calls for Proposals, and to start discussing together ideas and further steps for project development.
Over 120 high-level officials, local leaders and decision makers from eligible area of Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine met on 13 July, 2017 in the 18th century early-baroque L'Huillier-Coburg Palace in Edelény, Hungary to give an official opening to the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020.
On 6 and 7 July the Joint Technical Secretariat organised with support of the TESIM project in Uzhhorod, Ukraine and Satu Mare, Romania two project preparation workshops for potential applicants within the ENI CBC Programmes. The workshops were based on interactive approach and included presentations, practical group work and plenary discussions delivered and moderated by Albert Sorrosal and Huseyin Akturk, TESIM experts.
From 27 June to 5 July the Joint Technical Secretariat organised in all 10 core and adjoining regions of the Programme area Info Days for potential applicants of the 1st and 2nd Calls for Proposals launched earlier this year. Around 500 participants from regional and local authorities, NGOs and other organisations from Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine attended the events.
The second open Call for Proposals of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020 has been launched by the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office acting as the Managing Authority (MA) of the Programme, the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration and the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade acting as the National Authorities (NAs) of the Programme.
The first open Call for Proposals of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine European Neighbourhood Instrument Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 has been launched on 15 February 2017 by the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office acting as the Managing Authority (MA) of the Programme, the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine acting as the National Authorities (NAs) in the Programme.
