Title: Promotion and preservation of local culture based on joint tradition of fruit drying

Objectives: A. Improvement of conditions concerning protection and preservation of the traditional fruit drying as a part of joint cultural heritage. B. Promotion and presentation of the fruit drying, as the traditional activity in transborder region. C. Promotion and presentation of the traditional varieties of fruit and bio cultivation.

Expected results: 1. Construction of the traditional fruit dryers - one in Raslavice municipality, one in Zahattya village. 2. Educational activities for inhabitants of the region (especially Raslavice municipality and Zahattya village) – 2 in Slovakia, 2 in Ukraine (50 participants in each activity) – presentation of fruit drying techniques, traditional varieties of fruit and bio cultivation. 3. Fruit drying guidebook edition – internet website + 1000 printed guides - fruit drying techniques, traditional varieties of fruit and bio cultivation.

Target groups/final beneficiaries: 1. Inhabitants  of cross-border areas of Eastern Slovakia (especially self-governing region of Prešov, the Raslavice municipality, microregion of Sekčov-Topľa) and Transcarpathian region of Ukraine (mainly the Irshava district,  Zahattya village).  2. Museums and historical monuments – particularly the Raslavice Gallery of Folk Art, wooden chapels. 3. Department of culture of the Transcarpathian State Administration.  4. Local self-government (microregion of Sekčov-Topľa – 32 municipalities, Irshava district – 22 municipalities).  5. Educational institutions. 6. Non-governmental organizations. 7. Representatives of ethnic groups and national minorities. 8. Travel and tourist agencies. 9. Visitors of the trans-border region.

Main planned activities: 1. Organizing opening and closing conference, 2. Purchase of tools, 3. Organizing working meetings, 4. Construction of the traditional fruit dryers – (one in Raslavice SK, one in Zahattya UA), 5. Educational activities for inhabitants of the region  (4 educational activities, total 200 participants), 6. Fruit drying guidebook edition – internet website + 1000 printed guides
