The European Commission issued a decision on designation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary as Managing Authority of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020. This decision finally allows the Managing Authority to sign first grant contracts with grant beneficiaries awarded in the 1st and 2nd Call for Proposals.

In line with the Article 25 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 897/2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary has been selected by four participating countries as Managing Authority of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020 and has undergone during 2018 a designation procedure in Hungary.

This procedure has been based on a report and an opinion of an independent audit body that assessed the compliance of the management and control system of the Programme with the designation criteria laid down in the Regulation.

The Managing Authority submitted in December 2018 to the Commission the formal decision of four participating countries on designation. After thorough analysis, the Commission issued now the decision on designation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary as Managing Authority of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI CBC Programme 2014-2020.

This designation allows the Managing Authority to start signing the first grant contracts and allows the contracted grant beneficiaries to start the implementation of projects awarded within the 1st and 2nd Calls for Proposals. The contracting of all awarded projects will be speeded up during the months of August and September, 2019.

During the contacting phase of projects awarded in the 1st and 2nd Calls for Proposals, the 3rd Call for Proposals will be launched.
